2024 Acura ZDX Preview
Every driver that loves their Acura will be happy to hear the news! Acura’s first full-electric model, the 2024 Acura ZDX, is being co-developed with GM and will use the flexible global EV platform powered by Ultium batteries. This takes a step forward in producing one of the most performance focused EVs on the market. And you’re going to enjoy every second behind the wheel of one of these electric SUVs.
While the original ZDX debuted back in 2010, the new 2024 ZDX will have a more traditional two-box SUV shape that features a floating roof, smooth body sides, and a light-up grille. And of course, as the first step towards the all-electric lineup, there will also be a Type S rendition delivering a high-end performance-focused EV that so many Staten Island drivers are longing to experience. The 2024 Acura ZDX Type S is likely the range-topping model as well as the all-wheel drive variant with higher performance specs! Continue reading to find out about the 2024 Acura ZDX, as well as what to expect from the Ultium batteries.
What We Know About the Acura ZDX
As of now, not much has been announced officially about the 2024 Acura ZDX or the 2024 Acura ZDX Type S. However, since this lineup is one of the several partnerships with GM, it’s likely that this model will share similar specs with other GM models that utilize the same platform, such as the Cadillac Lyriq SUV. If we take a look at the Cadillac Lyriq, we can expect rear- and all-wheel drive options as well as a range of 340 to 500 horsepower from the ZDX.
As for the design, the photos show a seamless look, almost like something from the future. The 2024 Acura ZDX sports a refreshing design that signifies the beginning of the electric Acura era while still providing drivers with an exciting high-performing EV. Similarly, the interior is minimalistic yet intriguing compared to the other cabins you might have seen in Springfield. The new ZDX is now being styled in the same Acura Design Studio that once styled the original ZDX as their first vehicle in 2007.
The 2024 Acura ZDX is the first zero-emissions model that is expected to be released in 2024, but that’s just the start of the electric Acura preview! Acura plans to launch more EV models starting in 2026 after their flagship electric SUV. The company has a global goal to achieve carbon neutrality in 2050 and the ZDX will lead the way toward this goal.
2024 Acura ZDX Specs: Ultium Battery System
The 2024 Acura ZDX will be powered by cutting-edge EV technology developed by General Motors, known as the Ultium Battery System. This wireless battery management system (WBMS) is designed to improve vehicle scalability, with individual modules within the system communicating through a wireless network instead of traditional cables. This can reduce the number of cables by up to 90%, resulting in a more straightforward battery assembly with fewer specific components.
With the built-in ‘Vehicle Intelligence Platform,’ drivers will receive system upgrades through “over-the-air” updates while ensuring the system is protected against hackers.
2024 Acura ZDX Specs: Performance & Interior
While specific details about this exciting electric SUV are still forthcoming, there are a few predictions about what East Brunswick drivers can expect from the new ZDX. It is rumored that five trim levels will be available for this new Acura EV, providing various options to suit your preferences and budget.
As for the interior, the ZDX is expected to have two rows of passenger seating, accommodating up to five people for those busy drives around Staten Island. More information is anticipated to be released over the coming months, so stay tuned for further updates on this exciting new model. This is on top of the 2024 Acura ZDX Type S which is going to most likely represent that highest level trim, offering drivers the most bang for their buck in terms of features and performance.
