The 2010 Acura TL Is Two Cars in One
Real sport and real luxury in one car.

Sport sedan. Luxury sedan. Is there a difference? Can you have both in one car? Would that cost a lot? The 2010 Acura TL answers, "Yes," "Yes" and "No." It gives you the best of both - unquestionably!

Doesn't it seem that every sedan has suddenly become a sport sedan? Many brands would want you to think that every sedan they make is somehow a revved up sportscar in family car clothes. The Acura TL lives up to the claim and even lets you choose how much "sport" you want, all starting at an MSRP of $35,105.

That reasonable sum brings you a 280-hp 3.5-liter VTEC V6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission. Renowned Acura curve-carving handling is standard, too. A quick glance at the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 sedans in this price range reveals less power and less room, too. To save you the trouble of researching, the TL packs a 50-hp advantage over the BMW 328i, and offers a 69-hp leap over the Audi A4 (which is a four-cylinder-only model). The TL is also efficient, rated to deliver 26 mpg in highway driving.

The TL design is dramatic, certainly not for people who like to drive through life unnoticed. It's highlighted by sharp edges and machined surfaces with natural, free-flowing design elements. Details include bright xenon high-intensity discharge (HID) projector-beam headlights, pronounced wheel arches and genuine stainless-steel body trim.

Be assured, the TL not only looks like it loves the road, it drives like it, too. At the same time, the TL treats you and your passengers to a smooth, quiet ride with just enough of that famous Acura V6 growl to say, "Hey, I'm ready to have fun."

The Acura TL comes in two distinct trims: the standard TL delivers sport sedan performance with all-season front-wheel drive traction. For maximum driving pleasure, you can control the Sequential SportShift five-speed automatic transmission using the Formula One-style steering wheel-mounted paddleshifters.

For maximum sport, the TL SH-AWD model combines an even more powerful, 305-hp 3.7-liter V6 with one of the most advanced all-wheel drive systems on the market today.

The standard equipment in the TL leaves no doubt that it is a true luxury machine: power moonroof, dual-zone adaptive climate control, 10-way adjustable driver's seat and eight-way adjustable power front passenger's seat. The front seats are heated, too. Compare that to the Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series and you may be surprised at what you must pay extra for (leather in the BMW, for one). They even charge extra for most paint colors! With the TL, metallic and pearl colors are standard.

User technology is generous in the TL including a standard eight-speaker, 276-watt audio system with a six-disc CD changer, AM/FM radio, XM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth Audio, USB port and AUX jack connectivity, plus the HandsFreeLink® wireless telephone interface.

The TL SH-AWD is for drivers who look forward to "Curves Ahead" road signs. In this model, you can choose between the standard five-speed automatic transmission (which also lets you shift manually with steering wheel paddleshifters) and a new six-speed manual. With the manual transmission, Hill Start Assist helps prevent rollback when pulling away from a stop on an incline.

"SH-AWD" stands for "Super Handling All-Wheel Drive," a name that really fits the technology. Like other AWD systems, SH-AWD controls power distribution between the front and rear wheels for confident traction in all driving conditions, and that's not all.

Going into the curves, SH-AWD precisely controls power between the left and right rear wheels. You'll feel the result as sportscar-like agility. Other luxury brands are adding such technology, but the TL SH-AWD got there first. (To be accurate, the top-of-the-line Acura RL sedan got there first, and the TL inherited the technology!)

The new six-speed TL SH-AWD also comes with special performance suspension tuning and includes the Technology Package as standard. Available for other TL models, the Technology Package adds navigation and a 10-speaker Acura/ELS Surround® premium audio system. The package's AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic with Traffic Rerouting? and AcuraLink Real-Time Weather? with radar image maps equip the TL for any situation. The Acura/ELS Surround 10-speaker, 440-watt premium sound system is an audiophile's dream, featuring DVD-Audio, CD, DTS?, AM/FM tuner, XM Radio, integrated rearview camera and solar sensing temperature control.

True luxury and sport in one car? Absolutely - when the car is the 2010 Acura TL.

2010 Acura ZDX

Acura?s largest engine is so powerful, it rivals many V-8s. This 3.7-liter, VTEC® V-6 dishes up 300 horsepower and 270 lbs.-ft. of torque, while operating with a smoother, more responsive feel, thanks to significant weight reduction measures.

  • Magnesium-alloy cylinder head covers that use hardened aluminum cylinder sleeves help improve vehicle balance and the power-to-weight ratio.
  • A forged crankshaft results in lower weight and increased strength.
  • A high-flow exhaust system increases the engine?s power efficiency.
  • The Drive-by-Wire™ throttle system adjusts throttle response so it can be easy to modulate in slow speeds, yet extremely responsive when high performance is called upon.
  • EPA fuel mileage27 is 16 / 23 mpg (city/highway), which, combined with a 21-gallon fuel capacity, gives the ZDX the potential for attaining a 400-mile or more cruising range.
